Uber is an indicator of the rapid transition away from vehicle ownership. Why? Because it’s cheaper than other modes of transportation, including ownership. NYC commuters can now subscribe to Uber for less than the cost of a MetroCard. In other words, Uber is pretty much taking over the world. Don’t believe it? The company is already present in almost all of the Americas, Asia and Europe. Surprisingly, they even boast a fleet of vehicles in Middle Eastern countries like Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, and have a presence in some African countries as well. They’re in a total of 77 nations and 527 cities.
