SpaceX CEO Elon Musk doesn’t just plan on getting us to Mars: he intends to share those plans. We’ve already known the basics for quite a while. It hinges on reusable rockets he thinks will drastically slash the cost of space travel. But really, he envisions something far grander in scale. He envisions a Martian colony of a million people, with a massive SpaceX Interplanetary Transport system shuttling people to and from the planet. When would the first civilian flight occur? 2025. Talk about ambitious.
